RVT
Michelle brings warmth, dedication, and a deep sense of empathy to every patient she meets. Her journey in veterinary medicine began at Northern College in Haileybury, Ontario, tucked away in the heart of Northern Ontario. She graduated in June 2025 and proudly became a Registered Veterinary Technician in July 2025. Michelle’s passion lies in giving a voice to every furry friend, and in being a steady support for their families—no matter what challenges life may bring. She believes in the power of compassionate care, and her goal is to make sure every pet feels heard, safe, and loved. Outside of work, Michelle finds joy in hiking and exploring nature with her partner and their beloved dog, Bell. Her curiosity and love for animals extend to her home life, where she enjoys learning about her two baby rats, diving into new animal facts, and baking up sweet treats. Whether she’s out on a trail or at home trying something new, Michelle brings the same enthusiasm and heart to everything she does. She’s thrilled to be part of the team and looks forward to helping make each visit a kind, comfortable experience—for both pets and their people.
Questions
-
What’s your favorite animal and why?
My favorite animal is a specific dog—his name was Jax, an Old English Bulldog with the goofiest face and the sweetest heart. He was full of personality and charm, and every time I think of him, I’m reminded of why I love working with animals so much. I also love jack Russel, and shitzu poodle mix’s.

Describe a funny or heartwarming moment you’ve experienced at the hospital.
One of my most memorable moments was with a chronic kidney disease cat who came in regularly for fluid administration. He was famously grumpy, but for some reason, we clicked right away. I became the one to handle all his appointments, and over time, I developed a really meaningful bond with both him and his family. That experience truly cemented my passion for this profession—building trust not only with the pets but with their people, too.

What’s your pet’s name and what is there story?
I have one perfect dog named Bell, who I met when I met my partner. I didn’t raise her from a puppy, but we’ve built a strong bond, and now she knows fun tricks like “gentle bark” and “touch.” I also have two incredibly smart and adorable rats, Paddington and Bear. Paddington was my enrichment animal in tech school, and when I looked into her eyes, I just knew she had to come home with me. Bear was her best friend, and it only made sense that they stayed together.

What inspired you to work in this industry?
I’ve known I wanted to work with animals since I was a little girl. I used to walk up to strangers at Tim Hortons and tell them I was going to be a vet tech one day! That dream never left me. I’m incredibly passionate about advocating for animals, especially those who can’t speak for themselves ,and making sure they receive the care, kindness, and compassion they deserve. How do you approach difficult cases or diagnoses? -
How do you approach difficult cases or diagnoses?
Tough cases require strong communication and a solid support system. I really believe in the power of collaboration—working closely with the team and pet families makes such a difference. Even in my personal life, I’ve learned the importance of debriefing after challenges. Whether it’s a big case or a small one, talking things through and finding solutions together helps us all grow and better support the animals we care for
