Dr. Julia Butler is originally from Shubenacadie, NS and calls the area home now with her husband and three children, they also have a six year old cat Lily and a ten month old puppy named Toby. Dr. Butler attended the Agricultural College for two years and then went on to the Atlantic Veterinary College, then two years at UPEI. She is definitely a morning person and you may hear Great Big Sea when she’s driving into the hospital, it is the best concert she has been to and we agree they put on an amazing show! On the topic of famous, Dr. Butler has met Muscle Man Randy Savage (Do you even know who that is?), we don’t have all the details so be sure to ask her about meeting him when you are in the clinic next visit.

Dr. Butler was a member of the swim team not that long ago, she enjoys the summer and being able to swim outside. She is an avid gardener and you will find her outside of their home when she is not at work growing beautiful flowers and veggies. Her favourite way to spend a weekend is either cross country skiing or hiking with their kids and dog, as you can tell she loves the outdoors. But, when the weather is too rainy or too cold you can find Dr. Butler inside playing the piano or the saxophone she can keep our staff entertained with a performance if they are lucky. If you happen to have a chicken coop let her know, she loves chickens and might just stop by for a visit.
